As Montana families witness the rise of Critical Race Theory and historically inaccurate teachings in other states, Montana State Superintendent of Public Instruction Elsie Arntzen isn’t waiting to act here in Montana. She’s asked Attorney General Austin Knudsen to examine what these teachings mean for our children’s civil rights. She’s also made it clear that, while Marxist ideology that shames certain students for their race or gender may be popular in Washington and Seattle, it’s wrong and discriminatory and won’t be found in Montana classrooms.
“Elsie is 100 percent right to be worried about these fringe ideas coming to Montana’s schools, and we appreciate her sounding the alarm. As Republicans, we strongly support her efforts to balance our belief in local control for school boards with the need to stamp out destructive and divisive teachings that warp our children’s mind.” – Don K
