U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan Farmer, 37, of Boynton Beach, Fla., died of wounds sustained during an attack while conducting a local engagement in Manbij, Syria, on Jan. 16, 2019.

Navy Chief Cryptologic Technician (Interpretive) Shannon M. Kent, 35, was from upstate New York.

Scott A. Wirtz, a Defense Intelligence Agency civilian, died on Jan. 16, 2019, following a terrorist attack in Manbij, Syria, while supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.

Scott A, Wirtz, 42-year-old from St. Louis enlisted in the military in 1997 and served in the US Navy and as a Navy SEAL until 2005.  At the time of his death he was working for the Defense Intelligence Agency as a civilian.
