During 2021, warnings sounded when Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, other billionaires and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had been buying-up American farmland. It was, seemingly, an odd investment. Inflation was high. Interest rates were going up. America was growing closer to a recession. But, for billionaires, farmland is a good hedge against inflation. Cheap labor was pouring into the U.S.

Buying large swaths of farmland isn’t for everyone. Investors must be ultra-wealthy and patient. Return on investment might take up to ten years. Billionaires like farmland for diversifying their investment portfolios. Also, wealthy, pseudo-environmentalist groups have bought large amounts of acreage for preservation purposes.

Okay. But why is the CCP buying huge amounts of U.S. acreage, mostly within a stone’s throw from critical military bases? Why are representatives allowing it to happen? Michael Pillsbury, a Chinese expert with the Hudson Institute, has concerns. He believes “it’s chilling and there need to be laws passed by both houses and signed by the president” for monitoring all sales within a certain number of miles from such bases, especially those done by American adversaries. Call D.C. Representatives and stand-up for American sovereignty.
