Dec. 2016, Obama signed his 969-page “National Defense Authorization Act”. Sandwiched into it was establishment of a new State Dept. agency, “Global Engagement Center” (GEC). Its purpose was to “combat” an “epidemic of fake- news and malicious propaganda”. It was supposed to target only foreign entities and stand only for truth.
Words are power! “Propaganda”, “disinformation” & “national security interests” mean whatever GEC wants them to mean and unproven accusations hold as much strength as truth in unconstitutional investigations. Data-collecting on anyone is fair game! GEC established information-sharing among federal agencies.
Spreading disinformation is easy and inexpensive … disproving it is tough and very expensive. It took three years, crippled an administration and cost taxpayers $40-million, to disprove the Democrats’ Russia/Trump fake-news allegations. Before Nov. 2020, fake-news got away with hiding FBI’s possession of Hunter’s laptop. Aug. 2020, GEC outlined the “5 pillars of Russia’s disinformation & propaganda ecosystem”. March 5, 2020, GEC convened a hearing on its “Fight Against Global Disinformation” (see complete 76-page script on www).
May 2022, Biden’s Democrats established another agency … this time under DHS. Its intrusion is so pervasive that conservatives have nicknamed it “Ministry of Truth” after George Orwell’s ‘1984’. A totally unqualified, highly biased, far left person is heading it up. It is in plain sight. We the People are stupidly not paying attention!
