Earmarking = when members of either house of Congress carve-out projects … airports, parking lots, court houses, sports stadiums, bridges-to-nowhere, green energy grants … for their own districts.
Speaking of absurd, out-of-control earmarks, RI Dem. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse enriched his own family to the tune of $-millions. But, the largest ear-marker in the Senate was Mitch McConnell, whose earmarks total $498,935,000. One person said, “the late Tom Coburn was right … ‘ear-marks are the gateway drug to spending addiction’.”
Here’s another California whopper. The out-of-control governor expects $119-billion in federal Medicaid spending to be reimbursed from the federal coffers of taxpayers from every state in the USA. That’s more than Florida’s entire budget.
