Blackie Wetzel, a member of the Blackfeet Tribe, designed the Washington Redskins logo in 1971 to honor Chief John Two Guns White Calf, a proud Montanan.
But fast forward to 2020, and some radical liberals decided it was “racist” to feature the brave Chief John Two Guns White Calf on the team’s uniforms and branded materials.
So both the name Washington Redskins and the logo featuring Chief John Two Guns White Calf were thrown out to appease a loud minority and replaced with Washington Football Team and then, the Washington Commanders.
Erasing Chief John Two Guns White Calf is outrageous, and I will fight to have this Montanan restored to a place of Honor and recognize the great contributions of Native Americans.
