Breaking News (September 2023): A group of LGBT activists, affiliated with “Housing Works” and “Health GAP” (whatever they are) stormed House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s Capitol Hill office. They demanded more federal AIDS relief for PEPFAR, which Republicans oppose. They want PEPFAR reauthorized for 5 years. They were extremely disruptive and were arrested and charged with ‘unlawful entry’. Will they be punished?
On Jan. 6, 2021, Richard Barnett, a 63-year-old retired fire entered the office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, placing his feet on her desk. He was sentenced to 54 months in prison for that non-violent offense. How many were killed that day? Answer: One: unarmed Ashlee Babbitt.
Many people are upset about the disparity in treatment of leftist protestors compared to the treatment of Mr. Barnett. Instigators of the 460 riots in Portland and Seattle were detained for no more than a few hours. 25 people were killed and many injured. Buildings and businesses were destroyed. The protestors in those cities burned down two police headquarters. A police officer was still inside of one of them. They tried to go after a federal building; but, President Trump stepped-in to protect it. He offered the cities thousands of National Guardsmen, but city leaders refused. That’s exactly what Pelosi did, when, days before January 6th, Trump offered thousands of guardsmen to her as well and she refused. Why? Good question. Could it be she wanted the protest to go forward?
