The “political process” was made for man, not man for the political process. Bible-believing Christians of America have been largely absent from the executive, legislative and judicial branches of both local and federal government. Many special interest groups promoting their cause have successfully lobbied for, and against, legislation. But increasing amounts of legislation endorsing various forms of immorality and attacking the freedoms of the church and traditional, monogamous family indicate that believers have not been on the scene to prevent the enactment of such legislation. Well-meaning Christians insist the sole function of the people of God is to concentrate on “spiritual” matters. Let matters of civil authority be handled by others. The Bible has much to say concerning the influence that God’s people ought to have on the world in which we live. Put Christian principles first at the ballot box.
