Visiting with Montana AARP members in Bozeman.

What’s New:

As a strong champion of Medicare Advantage, I recently urged the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to protect and strengthen this program and support policies that will enhance beneficiary experience and increase access to coverage. Nearly 20% of Montana seniors and people with disabilities receive their Medicare coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan, and I am helping to lead the fight to protect and enhance these benefits.

In addition, I have introduced bipartisan legislation to ensure Medicare Advantage beneficiaries receive the full benefits to which they’re entitled. Unfortunately, an unintended Obamacare policy is causing many seniors to lose some coverage benefits.

Why It Matters:

Medicare Advantage beneficiaries in Montana and across the country overwhelmingly like their Medicare plan. These plans tend to offer more benefits, high value coverage, and better health outcomes – all at a lower cost – making them very popular.

I believe it is crucial that Montana seniors and people with disabilities continue to have the choice of receiving their Medicare coverage through either traditional Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan.

What’s Next:

I will continue to champion Medicare Advantage and fight to get my legislation signed into law to ensure seniors in Montana receive the full measure of their benefits.
