First, let me apologize for mentioning Deb’s bathroom habits, my sister thinks that is disrespectful. It belongs on my Alzheimer’s FYI post. The fact is, this is about me and the trials and tribulations of a 24/7 sole caregiver. And this I share for the edification of anyone beginning that journey. Further, I am in the process of putting together a guidebook based on my extensive experience, research in all related areas, Alzheimer’s, meds, psychology of caregiving, outside help, (professional and friends when there is no family support), nutrition, training, practical do’s and don’ts, how to secure the house and get ahead of potential problems, to include safety and more. Yet, I have not cranked my Alz FYI pieces up, since the “hearing” sabbatical. I am just now finding time and mental energy. We have not yet received our money back from the court, but intend to operate our home like a nursing home (which basically we do now. Utilizing friends like Tracey, Nina and the OKeefe family). Our facilities and care far exceed any institution’s. The 4 AM sky, Alz FYI and things I write for Montana’s rovingreporter.org, will all be kept separate.
