Thursday night (Jan. 29, 2026), the documentary “Melania” had its premier. Celebrities and political heavies walked the red carpet. Of course, her husband, Pres. Donald J. Trump, was by her side, sweetly holding Melania’s hand. He is obviously very proud of his wife and enjoyed “Melania” when he watched it in a private screening a couple of nights earlier. He described it as ‘glamourous’. saying, “I like glamour”. If Melania and her husband were Democrats, there’s no doubt that she would have been the “greatest style and fashion icon” since Jackie Kennedy among First Ladies of the White House. The documentary is about the 20 days leading-up to her husband’s inauguration in 2025. The book, from which this documentary grew, was equally wonderful. Melania has always been a savvy business woman with impeccable taste. She enjoys being behind-the-scenes. She emphasized “I have always been my own person. No one owns me.” Unfortunately, after she became First Lady, Fake News immediately began treating her as “an icy foreigner”, never mind that she can run circles around them intellectually. She speaks several languages and acutely understands the business and beauty worlds, along with all of the competitiveness. She owned several international businesses. She was already worth several hundreds of thousands before Donald ever came into her life. She is a self-made woman, who deserves credit for her achievements from both Republicans and Democrats.
