Our Next Energy (ONE), owned by Mujeeb Ijaz, is a Michigan-born energy storage company focused on battery technologies that, allegedly, accelerate the adoption of EVs. Right before the 2022 election, with her name on the ballot, Gov. Whitmer gave a $236-million, taxpayer-funded incentive package to the start-up for the factory it planned to build. At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Whitmer lauded ONE as “innovative and cutting edge”. To Michigan voters, it sounded good. Whitmer won the election.

Whitmer left out the part about Ijaz’s troubled history with public funding. As top executive at an electric battery maker company, called A123 Systems, he also lost hundreds of $-millions of taxpayer money. In 2009, Obama, predicted A123 would “help power the American economy for years to come” and casually gave it $249-million … compliments of American taxpayers! By 2012, it went belly-up! Its losses were driven by defective battery cells it made for Fisker Automotive. It was quickly sold to a Chinese Communist automotive conglomerate called Wanxiang.

For Whitmer, Obama and other Socialist Democrats, it’s not about profits and economic good. They don’t get-it … or do they? … that it’s not their money to waste. It’s part of the Democrats’ playbook. Obama, also, absurdly invested $527 million on behalf of taxpayers in solar panels made by another loser company … Solyndra. It didn’t even stay afloat for one year! It’s evil; it’s anti-American! But it pays hefty dividends to Democrat politicians.
