Here’s a great cause … comptoncowboys.com … founded by Randy Savvy. Amid devastating California wildfires, he and a coalition of horse lovers came together with their horse trailers and trucks to rescue endangered horses. The motto of comptoncowboys.com is “Streets raised us. Horses saved us.”
Savvy drove into a restricted area in Calabasas after a woman called for help retrieving her horse. One harrowing rescue happened in Sunland-Tujunga, a very remote area. “I just drove around the road closure sign and went into the deep, dark canyon. Even park rangers were gone. But, I had my new truck with all of its lights lit up the whole time.” Savvy “loves horses because they really transcend all social groups and barricades. So, no matter if you’re white, black, straight, gay, rich, poor, or whatever, you have horses and love horses; you’re family. It’s just a special thing to be able to go into that mode and be out there with those people.”
