These are unprecedented times. Everyone needs to use their heads and stay healthy.
We have a duty to listen to the authorities and stay safe. But our government has a duty to not abuse its powers in an emergency like this!
Take a look at what the City of Fresno, for instance, has done to its citizens:
The City of Fresno has now declared a “state of emergency“, and doing so grants the city wide-ranging powers under its “Emergency Services Ordinance“.
Fox26 News asked for and got a copy of the full ordinance. Among other things, after an emergency declaration, it allows the city to:
1. Suspend the sale of firearms and ammo.
2. Suspend the sale of alcohol.
3. Order a general curfew.
4. Order the closing of all taverns.
5. Order a price or rate freeze on consumer goods and on hotels if lodging is limited.
6. Order a halt to gasoline sales, except as fuel pumped into vehicles’ gasoline tanks.
7. Order the closing of any business where crowds “tend to gather”, including theaters, amusement areas, gyms, stadiums, etc.
This is an insane overreach of emergency powers in a crisis. What does banning guns or alcohol have to do with stopping Coronavirus?!?
I’ve been saying all year, who we elect matters. If you want your rights taken away for no good reason, and every issue politicized by a radical socialist Democrat party, you can vote for them.
Me? I’m going to be focused on replacing our local socialist radical, AOC!
