On November 17, 2023, hardworking taxpayers learned that the DOD failed its 6th straight audit and there’s been no improvement from its 2022 audit. That’s hard to do considering the DOD does its own auditing! It still can’t account for $3.8-trillion in assets and $4-trillion in liabilities “from 50 states and 4500 global sites”, according to Michael McCord, DOD’s Comptroller. He continues, “but, the improvements we are making positively affect every soldier, sailor, marine and DOD civilian”.

Even though there’s a short fall of auditing standards, McCord painted it in a positive light, “Our efforts to track, coordinate and quickly deliver security systems to our allies in Ukraine and now Israel is closely related to the work across the DOD enterprise on readiness.”

Is that supposed to make legal Americans feel better about national security and the confidence that taxpayer money is being well spent?
