Led by Senator Steve Daines, Senate Republicans moved an amendment to block the Biden Administration’s plan to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to illegal immigrants who were separated at the border.

“Biden’s open border policies have reached a new crazy level. Montana families are struggling with inflation and skyrocketing costs on everything from gas to groceries because of Biden’s wasteful spending policies, and now the President wants to give hundreds of thousands of dollars to illegal immigrants. Because of Biden, our southern border has been taken over by Mexican cartels and this effort will only continue to incentivize illegal immigration making it worse.” – Senator Steve Daines

In response to President Biden’s efforts to mandate vaccines for private businesses with 100 or more employees, Senator Daines paved the way for Senate Republicans to strike down the mandate under the Congressional Review Act (CRA).

“President Biden’s vaccine mandate will hurt Montana small businesses and workers. While I will keep urging Montanans to talk to their doctor and get a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine, I will continue to fight back against these mandates,” Daines said. “For over a year, we’ve done everything we can to help Montana small businesses keep their doors open and get folks back to work. Biden’s vaccine mandate will cause businesses to close their doors and force workers out.”
Amid runaway gas prices at the pump and skyrocketing heating costs across the country, thanks to President Biden’s war on fossil fuels, Senator Daines introduced legislation to require the Interior Department to restart oil and gas leasing on federal lands and waters.

“We must do what we can to bring back Made in America energy jobs and restore our global energy dominance by supporting an all-of-the-above energy portfolio which includes oil, gas, wind, solar and more.” – Senator Steve Daines
