Increasing access to care with telehealth

I recently introduced bipartisan legislation with Congresswoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-Calif) to expand telehealth services throughout the country.

The National Telehealth Strategy and Data Advancement Act will increase access to care, reduce health care costs, collect critical information to improve policy making, and streamline the administration of federal grants for researching the use of technology in health care.

National economy booming, jobs growing

January’s job report is further proof our nation’s economy continues to grow stronger. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 225,000 new American jobs were created, beating expectations of 158,000. Our unemployment rate remains at historic lows.

The Labor Department also reports wages grew 3.1 percent over the last year, including a higher rate of growth for non-supervisory workers.

I’ll continue working on pro-growth, pro-family policies so that hardworking Montanans in every corner of our state have access to more opportunities and greater prosperity.

Making the federal government work for the people

As an entrepreneur and businessman, I know how important it is to make a business more efficient, deliver a high-quality product to customers, and mentor and develop a high-performing staff. The federal government should operate the same way.

For the last year, I led the Government Efficiency, Accountability, and Reform (GEAR) Task Force to help get us there. We recently released our report, “Power, Practices, Personnel: 100+ Commonsense Solutions to Better Government.”

Our commonsense, three-step proposal provides a roadmap with over 100 solutions. Working with experts, lawmakers, and members of the Trump administration, we developed an actionable, nonpartisan plan to reclaim government from unelected bureaucrats, make the federal government more efficient and accountable to taxpayers, and further develop our dedicated federal workers so they can deliver better results for the American people.

Spirit of Montana

A senior at Laurel High School, Emily was born with 16 congenital heart defects and has had seven open-heart surgeries. With the demands of medical procedures and doctors’ visits, she faced difficulty attending school regularly in the seventh grade. She, however, persisted and persevered. Today, her hard work at school and drive have paid off: she serves as president of the Laurel High School chapter of Future Farmers of America and is set to graduate in May.
