Two weeks ago, I sent a letter to President Trump on behalf of Montana’s pulse crop farmers pushing for favorable pulse crop provisions during ongoing trade negotiations with India. I sent the letter to the President ahead of his visit with India’s Prime Minister Modi. Then, last Tuesday, President Trump sent me an update! He hand delivered the letter to Prime Minister Modi himself. I’m thankful that President Trump is fighting with me on behalf of Montana Ag!
It was a great morning in D.C. because the Montana Potato Farmers dropped by! We discussed policies important for Montana ag including trade, transportation and infrastructure, agricultural labor, and the state of the potato farming industry in Big Sky Country.
The Montana Wool Growers also stopped by last week where we had a conversation on the importance of grazing, ag research, trade, and conservation.
As your voice in Washington D.C., I will contnue to be a strong ag-vocate for Montana’s farmers and ranchers and push for policies that expand economic opportunity for our ag industries.
