Happy new year! With 2020 here, I thought I’d share 12 photos with you from last year that reflect some of what we accomplished together in 2019.
1. Talking with veterans about issues they face at the 100th Anniversary celebration of the American Legion Butte-Silver Bow Post 1.
2. Taking a selfie with high school students from Ronan and Sand Coulee after talking with them about how Congress works.
3. Joining Jessie Graveley, a student at Powell County High School, at the unveiling of her winning artwork for the 2019 Congressional Art Competition. Check out her painting and learn more about the competition HERE.
4. Honoring recipients of the 2019 Montana Congressional Veteran Commendation in Dillon. Learn more about the 27 recipients and the award HERE.
5. Visiting the Jeannette Rankin statue in the U.S. Capitol and promoting my bill to name a Missoula post office her, which President Trump signed in December 2019.
6. Meeting with constituents from Hamilton, who visited Washington, D.C. with the Children’s Congress, to discuss legislation about juvenile diabetes.
7. Holding a Fighting Fraud Workshop in Kalispell with federal, state, and local officials to help Montanans crack down on fraud. For tips to fight fraud, check out a flyer on my website HERE.
8. Catching up with young Montanans at the Roosevelt County Fair to see the result of their hard work raising the animals and later talking with farmers and ranchers about federal ag policy.
9. Listening as a U.S. Border Patrol agent describes security measures on the southern border in Arizona.
10. Questioning witnesses testifying at an Energy and Commerce Hearing about protecting consumer data and privacy.
11. Visiting a ranch near Choteau with U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt to see the impacts of a growing grizzly population and discuss federal measures to address the issue.
12. Participating in a send-off ceremony for the Montana Army National Guard’s 1-189 General Support Aviation Battalion in October.
