Protecting Montana Ranchers and Producers

What’s New:
Last week I led a bipartisan effort to protect Montana ranchers and cattle producers.
I introduced the SALE Act which ensures ranchers and auction yards who sell cattle are protected in case their livestock dealer goes bankrupt. Currently our ranchers and cattle producers can be at risk of a near total loss if a dealer goes bankrupt before being compensated.
Why It Matters:
This bipartisan legislation is about protecting Montana ranchers and cattle producers.
Montana ranchers depend on their livestock to put food on the table and pay the bills. When a sale is made, our ranchers should have the full certainty that they’re going to get the payments they’re due.
This commonsense legislation provides the certainty and accountability needed to protect Montana ranchers.
What’s Next:
I will continue to work on policies that strengthen Montana ag and protect our farmers and ranchers.
Best Wishes,
